If social exclusion isn't blatant bullying, it is its first cousin. The reason I say that it may not be bullying is that no one has to hang out with you. You don't have to be a member of a particular group... but that doesn't mean it doesn't hurt. It does. But, as Izzy Kalman of Bullies 2 Buddies points out, there are different ways to deal with the situation...and some are definitely more effective than others.

How to VLOG … or Something Like That

My friend, and fellow Bling Babe, Carolina Valdez Miller (the one in the white top), recently did a post A Vlog: How to Vlog…or Something which is absolutely hilarious. In fact, I have now decided that when I start to Vlog, I’m going to have Carol do them for me. She’s just soooo good at them. Besides which, as you will see in the video, she’ll want me to put *censored* lipstick on, and dress up. It’ll never happen…well, maybe the lipstick, but dressing up at the same time?? *Sigh* I’ll never get it right.

Recently one of my TwitterSisters, Denise Grover Swank, completed the first draft of her novel titled, Chosen. She was then at a loss on what to do while she waited to edit, so she decided to make a book trailer for her as yet unedited book. To find out what she has to say about it, click here.

Denise went into making a book trailer with the same enthusiasm and single-mindedness with which she does everything. The result is below. Quite good I think.

Today is a banner day for me. I have received my FIRST EVER video review. The review is of Nowhere Feels Like Home, the second book in the Misfit McCabe series. The review was done by Angie Kate, aka Gypsy Angie Kate, who is working on her debut novel, Uncommonly Common. Angie won a copy of Nowhere Feels Like Home through a Twitter contest, and I have been enjoying her journey through the book because she would tweet me where she was and what she thought. She has a wonderful spirit of enthusiasm and I appreciate the time she took to review my book and I can’t wait to see her published so I can read hers. So without further ado….here’s Angie.

Interview At the OC Kids Book Festival

When I attended the Orange County Children’s Book Festival, an excellently run event by the way, the group I shared the booth with decided to do an interview will all of the participating authors. Ultimately, we were supposed to be notified if the video turned out. I never heard anything, so imagine my surprise when I stumbled across this video on YouTube. It was the end of a good, long day and this was the second take because the wind completely destroyed the sound on the first take.
